Reno, Nevada - February 1, 2002 - MIKE ALGER TO APPEAR IN SHADOWLANDS. Local media personality, Mike Alger, to appear in “The Shadowlands”, the much-acclaimed project produced by Matthew Kilburn and Gamma Films. Award-winning television meterologist and novelist, Alger will appear in the roll of General Ackar, head of the Regent’s Guard (Regent played by Gary Busey – see 2/1/02 release).

“Helping to establish a strong filmmaking identity in northern Nevada has long been a goal of mine,” said Alger, “And I look forward to participating in this ground-breaking production.”

“I am excited to work with Mike again,” said writer/producer/director Matthew Kilburn, “We first worked together when Mike appeared in my last feature project ‘The Harvesters’ (award-winning action-thriller 1999) also filmed here in Reno.”

“The Shadowlands” is a feature-length television pilot slated for network distribution as early as the Fall 2002 season. This Sci-Fi drama has been described as “Star Wars”2 for television. Special effects, animation, action, and human drama combine to produce an exciting and compelling viewing experience for all ages.
