Reno, Nevada -- Sept. 17, 2002 -- Local Film Studio Signs as Title Sponsor For Reno Film Festival 2002
The Reno Film Festival announces that local Film Studio gammaUniverse.com has become the Title Sponsor for the 2002 Reno Film Festival, scheduled for the weekend of Nov. 1-3. gammaUniverse.com will serve as the first Title Sponsor in the Festivals fast-growing three year history.
gammaUniverse.com is headed by President/Executive Producer, Matthew Lane Kilburn, who oversees the companys divisions that include: feature film and television production, book publishing, media development, as well as actor/model training.
Kilburn said, "Gamma Universe is dedicated to building and cultivating the arts and entertainment in Northern Nevada; and we are excited to have the opportunity to sponsor, support and participate with the Reno Film Festival as it brings education, entertainment and opportunity to the region."
With almost two decades of experience in media and entertainment development, Kilburn is also the Founder and President of Renowood.org, a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing a filmmaking community in Northern Nevada. The foundation will pursue its goals by, among other things, opening the region's first film school.
Kilburn, a Reno-native, said, "I was raised to believe that anything is possible... that any dream is attainable; but one has to be willing to take the risk and pursue that dream with reason, wisdom and a bit of reckless abandon."
Their Gamma Films division recently produced the full-length television series pilot "Shadowlands," which will be premier at this year's Reno Film Festival. "Shadowlands," starring Oscar nominee Gary Busey, is a science fiction drama, in the vein of Star Wars©, where a distant planet's battle between dominance and survival rests in the power of an ancient mysticism.
